Interesting indeed. although I do find the graphical representation to the survey outcome a tad confusing...
well my take would be the y-axis shows faith VS. reason while x-axis scientific VS. spiritual
if it is this way however, I do not agree with the survey authors bundling Buddhism more with faith while bundling Taoism more to reason
being asian and being exposed to both schools of thoughts, and while I'm not a devout Buddhist or Taoist, I've read and experienced quite a bit to have such an opinion. I did a cursory "Google'ing" and chance upon this interesting audio recording.
Disclaimer: By the way I have to be mindful when deciding to post this, as there might be a lil’ “religious” bearing to it, and sometimes this upsets some people with certain faiths and beliefs.
That said, I'l recommend you to give it a go, I do not really think there's too much about religion here but more importantly it does highlight some insights regarding modern science VS. faith/religion. Do apply your own rhyme and reason when listening, and reach your conclusion as you wish. Happy listening!

That's a pretty poor chart. Agnostic and Atheist, for instance, should overlap 100% on that chart, because the difference between them is along an axis not displayed. And why Judeo-Christian doesn't overlap with fundie is beyond me... And Humanism argueably should extend all the way up through the middel, since quite a few humanists have, by any reasonable definition, made humanism their religion.
